- Failed work costs nothing.
- Quotes are shown before anything runs.
Per video
Checking readiness first costs a tenth of a classify-and-transcribe run on the same video, and the footage that fails the check is the footage that would have wasted the whole run.
Fixing a video
Fixes are priced by output duration and resolution, because that is what they cost us. Duration is billed in whole minutes, rounded up, with a minimum of one.
The tier is keyed on the shortest side of the output, so a vertical 1080×1920 clip is priced as HD like its landscape twin. Turning the phone does not change the bill.
Examples
A fix includes the readiness check it is based on. You are not billed for that separately, and you do not need to run it yourself first.
Failed fixes cost nothing
All three ways a fix can fail are free: the transcode failing, it never finishing, and it finishing but not passing verification. The third is the one worth calling out — if a file comes back and we cannot show it is what was prescribed, you are not charged for it, and you still get the report saying why. This is a property of the job rather than a refund you request.credits_charged on a failed fix reads 0.
Batch processing
Batches are priced per video at the same rates, with volume discounts applied automatically. CallGET /api/v1/batch/pricing/tiers for the current ladder.
Trying it for nothing
GET /api/v1/samples lists two videos we host that are broken on purpose.
Checking and fixing those costs no credits at all — not deducted from your
free tier, not deducted from anything. The quote still comes back, so you can see
what the same work would cost on your own footage.
Free tier
Signing up gives you 100 credits a month, no card required. That is 100 readiness checks, 50 classifications, or roughly 50 minutes of HD fixes.Checking your balance
GET /api/v1/usage returns your remaining credits and this month’s consumption by capability.
Every response that costs credits reports credits_charged, so you can reconcile against your own records without trusting a running total.
