# Generate Fingerprint

> Generate perceptual hash fingerprint for duplicate detection

Generate a perceptual hash fingerprint for a video. Use fingerprints to detect duplicates across your video library by comparing similarity scores.

**Cost:** 1 credit

### Response (202 Accepted)

Returns a job submission with `job_id`. Get the result from [Get Job Status](/api-reference/get-job-status) with `?wait=N`, or subscribe to `job.completed` via a [webhook](/guides/webhooks).

### Result format

When the job completes, the `results` field contains:

Compare fingerprints between videos — similarity above 95% indicates a definite duplicate, 85-94% is a possible match.
